ROLEX SWAN CUP: AN EXTRAORDINARY BLEND OF COMPETITIVE SPIRIT AND CAMARADERIE

Geneva, 14 September 2026 – Rolex's involvement in yachting's annual calendar reflects the depth and breadth of the brand's engagement with the sport. From offshore classics to grand prix racing and other events steeped in tradition, Rolex's ties to sailing run deep. Among the pinnacle events on the yachting calendar is the Rolex Swan Cup, held in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, from 14 to 19 September. Rolex has been the event's title sponsor and steadfast partner since 1984, and over the decades the regatta has become known for the distinctive sportsmanship, fierce competitiveness and deep camaraderie shown by its competing crews.

Hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), the Rolex Swan Cup takes place every two years, and 2026 marks its 60th anniversary. The event gathers generations of high-performance yachts built by Finnish luxury yacht manufacturer Nautor Swan, presenting a magnificent spectacle across the water. Celebrated American sailor Paul Cayard, a Rolex Testimonee for close to 30 years, has spent decades competing at the highest level of the sport. This year he will race aboard the ClubSwan 50 Cuordileone as tactician, and he sums up what Rolex brings to this three-way partnership:

Around 150 yachts are expected to compete this year, spanning one-design boats, high-performance maxis and early classic models. As Cayard puts it: "The Rolex Swan Cup holds a special place in yachting, bringing together yachts ranging in size from 128 feet (39 metres) down to 30 feet (9 metres). What makes this regatta so special comes down to many factors: the three-way partnership between Rolex, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and Nautor Swan, the iconic racecourse at Porto Cervo, the demanding racing conditions, and the sheer beauty of the surroundings. It's an extraordinary combination."

First held in 1984, the Rolex Swan Cup opened a remarkable chapter in Rolex's now nearly seventy-year history in yachting.
