THE ROLEX SHANGHAI MASTERS: THE PINNACLE OF ASIAN TENNIS
By JiangMarket News

From 7 to 18 October 2026, the world's finest men's tennis players gather at the Qizhong Tennis Centre for the Rolex Shanghai Masters, the penultimate ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season.

A Benchmark Tournament
One of the most prestigious events on the calendar, the Rolex Shanghai Masters has been named ATP Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year five times in a row, and has earned the players' vote for the ATP Standards of Excellence in each of the past two years. The tournament commands a global audience and continues to drive the growth of tennis across Asia.
Rolex's ties with Asia's flagship tennis event run deep. The partnership dates to 2009, when the Masters first came to Shanghai, and the brand became title sponsor in 2010. Rolex's association with tennis began even earlier, in 1978, when it became the Official Timekeeper of The Championships, Wimbledon. Today the Swiss watchmaker supports all four Grand Slam tournaments, every ATP Masters 1000 event, the Nitto ATP Finals, the WTA 1000 tournaments and WTA Finals, as well as team events including the Laver Cup, the Davis Cup Finals and the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The Field
The elite of men's tennis will contest this year's title at the highest level, led by Rolex testimonee Carlos Alcaraz. They are joined by Ben Shelton, runner-up at the 2026 US Open, Taylor Fritz, Rafael Jódar, Holger Rune and more — players following in the footsteps of fellow Rolex testimonee Roger Federer, who won the Shanghai title twice in his glittering career.

Sinner: Proud of the Rolex Family
"I am incredibly proud to be part of the Rolex family," says Rolex testimonee and 2024 champion Jannik Sinner. "For many years, Rolex has supported tennis tournaments around the world, contributing remarkably to our sport. When people think of tennis, it is hard not to associate it with the crown logo on the courts. I have always admired Rolex watches, so wearing them and representing Rolex is a great honour for me."
Rolex and Tennis in China
Rolex has supported tennis in China for more than two decades, serving as Official Timekeeper of the 2008 Masters Cup in Shanghai and, since 2005, of the China Open in Beijing.
Tennis legend Li Na became a Rolex testimonee in 2011, the year she made history at Roland-Garros as the first Asian player to win a Grand Slam singles title, adding a second at the Australian Open three years later. Zheng Qinwen, who joined the Rolex family in 2022, captured China's historic tennis gold at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and reached the finals of the Australian Open and the WTA Finals. After a long injury lay-off, she returned in force at the 2026 US Open, winning seven matches from qualifying to reach the quarter-finals.

Rolex and Tennis
Since the bond formed with Wimbledon in 1978, Rolex's close relationship with tennis — built on a shared pursuit of excellence — has spanned nearly half a century. The brand's tennis family includes legends Rod Laver, Björn Borg, Chris Evert and Roger Federer, alongside today's Grand Slam champions Carlos Alcaraz, Mirra Andreeva, Coco Gauff, Jannik Sinner and Iga Świątek, and outstanding players Belinda Bencic, João Fonseca, Taylor Fritz, Victoria Mboko and Ben Shelton.
