ROLEX PRESENTS THE PERPETUAL PADELLONE

Rolex presents the Perpetual Padellone, a new complete annual calendar watch with a moonphase display that brings together refined aesthetics, instantaneous-jump calendar mechanics and a distinctly poetic view of time.

The watch connects the rhythm of the moon with the rhythm of the calendar. At midnight, the day, date and month change simultaneously, while the moonphase display traces the passage of a synodic month through contrasting full-moon and new-moon markers. The design recalls the expressive character of the historic 8171, known to collectors as the “Padellone”, while reinterpreting its broad, elegant form in a contemporary 39 mm case.

The new model is offered in 18 ct Everose gold with a white grained dial and Settimo bracelet, as well as in platinum with an ice-blue grained dial and black alligator leather strap, and in Everose gold with a white grained dial and brown alligator leather strap. The transparent case back reveals calibre 7190, a self-winding movement developed and manufactured entirely by Rolex.

Behind the watch’s instantaneous complete annual calendar is the patented Haplos system, which distinguishes between 30-day and 31-day months and requires adjustment only once a year, at the end of February. With its blend of traditional display, modern engineering and moonlit detail, the Perpetual Padellone extends the Perpetual family’s dialogue between precision and poetry.
