ROLEX AND THE GOODWOOD REVIVAL: TIME STANDS STILL, LEGENDS CONTINUE

GENEVA, SUMMER 2026 — Each September, a quiet corner of West Sussex, England, welcomes some 150,000 spectators. Dressed in refined vintage attire inspired by the 1940s to the 1960s, they gather for the Goodwood Revival, an event that brings the fashion, culture and motor sport of a bygone era vividly back to life, creating new memories inspired by an age of transformation. From split-second decisions on the track to the almost frozen-in-time spectator experience, time means something different to everyone across the three days of racing. Rolex Testimonee and endurance racing legend Tom Kristensen, who frequently drives historic race cars on the Revival circuit, says: 'This event is like a time capsule, allowing you to travel back through the years to a golden age. It not only brings a romantic and uniquely charming period of history back to life, it also shows how motor sport has continued to evolve.'

The Rolex Clock Tower, standing beside the Goodwood Motor Circuit, serves as a constant reminder that at this event, every precise detail is cherished. Rolex has been the Official Timepiece of the Goodwood Revival since 2004, supporting the event's visionary spirit and paying tribute to every meticulously preserved historic racing car. Rolex Testimonee Mark Webber says: 'Rolex and the Goodwood Revival are a perfect match in values — both are guided by exceptional quality and the highest standards. An immeasurable amount of effort goes into recreating that classic era. You see families bringing their children to compete in the Settrington Cup, exploring the Revive & Thrive theme village and enjoying the wonderful experiences at the Rolex Drivers' Club. This event pays tribute to the evolution of motor sport.'

This year's Revival takes place from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September, promising more unforgettable moments. To mark the 60th anniversary of the Ford GT40 Mk II's glorious 1966 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans — defeating Ferrari and sweeping the podium — the three legendary race cars will reunite on the circuit for the first time in a decade. Kristensen, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans nine times and holds the record for most victories in the race, looks forward to witnessing the historic moment: 'I am immensely proud of Le Mans' heritage, and seeing the Goodwood Revival honour racing tradition in this way fills me with joy and nostalgia. Looking back is a remarkable thing. You can trace the history of motor sport and relive classic moments that happened before you were born. It helps a younger generation understand the golden age of racing, and how racing technology and design have continued to evolve.'

When racing concludes on Sunday evening, Rolex will present the 'Driver of the Meeting' with a Perpetual 1908 engraved with special wording. The award recognises the driver who best embodies the spirit of the Goodwood Revival — respect for racing heritage and a genuine love of these historic machines. The Revival celebrates the milestone moments that shaped modern motor sport, and Rolex, as ever, records every second of this glorious journey back in time with precision.
