Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Futur Antérieur: Two Movements, Two Portholes, One New Case
By JiangMarket News

Louis Erard has unveiled Futur Antérieur, its third collaboration with Vianney Halter, and the most structurally ambitious of the three. Where the previous joint pieces applied Halter's vocabulary to Louis Erard's signature regulator, the new watch reconsiders the architecture itself: two separate portholes divide the display, two automatic movements drive them, and the case is an entirely new design.
"Let's go closer to the Antiqua, and let's make something Louis Erard has never made before," Manuel Emch recalls telling Halter. The Antiqua is the Vianney Halter watch that made his name in 1998, and Futur Antérieur takes its cue from that porthole logic without reproducing it.
Hours and minutes occupy one dial; the seconds occupy the other. Each is powered by its own Sellita SW100 automatic movement. Riveted bezels frame both apertures, and the steel case alternates brushed and polished surfaces to give the watch its sculptural presence.

The case was developed specifically for this piece and comprises 67 components in a profile of 8.85 mm, slim for a twin-movement watch. Halter's signature blued steel hands are carried over, and the watch is supplied on an ostrich leather strap.
Futur Antérieur is offered in two readings of the same architecture, Gold and Silver, and a Duo Set brings both editions together. Online sales open on 5 November 2026.

Louis Erard has built its reputation on collaborations that let a designer work within a defined envelope rather than designing from scratch. Futur Antérieur is the first of them where the envelope itself was up for negotiation, and the result is less a decorated regulator than a small piece of independent architecture in a steel case.
