Drawing on nearly a century of aviation watchmaking, Longines breathes new life into the Spirit collection for 2026 with four new timepieces: two Longines Spirit Pilot models and two Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback chronographs. All four share a bold blue aesthetic and are certified as chronometers by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) — a nod to the skies' uncompromising demand for precision, and to the flying roots of the Spirit line.
Longines has long accompanied pioneers of aviation, from Amelia Earhart and Elinor Smith to Richard Byrd. From transatlantic flights to polar expeditions, the Maison has developed precision instruments built to withstand the harshest environments. Launched in 2020, the Spirit collection carries that legacy into the present, inspired by those who dared to push boundaries. The 2026 novelties are unified by matte blue dials, with a choice of steel bracelets fitted with fine-adjustment folding clasps, or high-quality Swiss-made blue rubber straps — while the Flyback chronographs add a blue ceramic bezel for an even more contemporary character.
The Longines Spirit Pilot, introduced in 2025 as an extension of the Spirit collection, reinterprets the modern pilot's watch through the lens of the brand's rich aviation history. The new blue three-hand model remains true to its historical roots while giving the classic design a contemporary face. Its 39 mm steel case has been refined for ergonomics, comfort and balance, while the vivid matte blue dial strikes a balance between modern style and the clarity demanded of a professional pilot's watch. Silver hands and three-dimensional Arabic numerals ensure legibility in all lighting conditions. Inside beats the exclusive Longines L888.4 automatic movement with silicon balance spring, offering magnetic resistance ten times the ISO 764 standard, a 72-hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification. With a screw-down crown and case back, water resistance stands at 10 bar (100 metres).
A pillar of the Spirit collection, the Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback reflects the Maison's pioneering role in flyback chronograph technology — a breakthrough for which Longines filed a patent in 1935. After launching in 2025 with a black dial, it now arrives in blue. The new model pairs a 39.5 mm steel case, just 13.4 mm thick, with a vivid blue dial, bidirectional rotating bezel with blue ceramic insert and countdown scale. Silver hands and Arabic numerals are coated with Super-LumiNova for effortless reading, while a box-shaped sapphire crystal underscores its cockpit-instrument character. The hand-wound Longines L792.4 calibre, visible through the transparent screwed case back, features a silicon balance spring, a column-wheel chronograph construction with flyback function, COSC chronometer certification and a 68-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 10 bar (100 metres), and buyers can choose between a steel bracelet with fine-adjustment folding clasp or a Swiss-made blue rubber strap with pin buckle and quick-release system.
