By Alfred LungPress Launch

Hong Kong, 17 September 2026 — Huawei's Hong Kong consumer business unveiled two new products at a single launch event held under the banner 'Chase the Wild': the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 series of smartwatches and the HUAWEI FreeBuds Neo true wireless earbuds. Actor and fitness personality Alex Fong headlined the event, trying the new GT 7 Pro on stage and at the product display.

The WATCH GT 7 series is built around three pillars: ultra-long battery life, advanced outdoor sports modes and comprehensive health management. The series comprises the top-spec HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro (46mm) alongside the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 (46mm and 41mm), adding a first-of-its-kind indoor skiing mode, upgraded cycling features and up to 21 days of battery life.

Mr Li Fan, Head of Huawei's Hong Kong consumer business, said: 'As a market-leading brand, HUAWEI WATCH continues to empower fashionable, healthy lifestyles through innovative technology. Users today pursue more than athletic performance — they care about complete physical and mental wellbeing. With its formidable battery life and new outdoor sports modes, the GT 7 series gives users the freedom to explore without worry, while its health-management innovations turn health data into actionable, intelligent guidance.'

The GT 7 Pro pairs a scratch-resistant nano-microcrystalline ceramic bezel with a lightweight titanium middle frame, and its 1.47-inch AMOLED display sits under sapphire glass with peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits for clear reading in bright outdoor light. Across the series, the new HUAWEI EasyCross fluoropolymer strap design keeps the watch secure on the wrist through daily commutes and high-intensity training alike.

For winter sports, the series introduces an indoor skiing mode that automatically detects skiing and snowboarding movements through its multi-sensor array even without satellite reception, precisely recording distance, speed and total descent. Outdoor skiers can download more than 3,000 resort maps worldwide via the HUAWEI Health app, together with an industry-first turn-detection feature and G-Force cornering analysis that helps refine technique. Cyclists gain climb planning, gradient reports and sharp-bend alerts, supported by the upgraded HUAWEI Sunflower positioning system with dual-frequency tracking.

On the health side, the GT 7 series goes beyond simple monitoring to offer proactive health management, with a morning health report, a personalised readiness score that blends sleep quality, heart-rate variability, emotional wellbeing and activity data into five intuitive levels, and AI-powered health interpretation. The GT 7 Pro adds ECG recording together with advanced risk assessments for coronary heart disease and diabetes through Huawei's research programmes.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 series is available for pre-order from today at selected retailers and goes on sale on 30 September 2026. The GT 7 Pro is priced at HK$2,788 in Field Yellow, Frost Green and Carbon Black, while the GT 7 46mm and 41mm start at HK$1,888, with the 41mm Dynamic White at HK$2,088.
At the same event, Huawei also unveiled the new HUAWEI FreeBuds Neo true wireless earbuds, designed for a new generation of trendsetters. The earbuds combine a futuristic aesthetic with an innovative short-stem design and pressure-relieving ergonomics: each bud weighs just 4.8 g, with a charging case that brings the total to only 41 g.

Mr Li Fan added: 'The HUAWEI FreeBuds series has always led the industry with innovative audio technology. The new FreeBuds Neo pairs Huawei's flagship acoustic expertise with a younger generation's pursuit of self-expression and style. From its bold design and pressure-relieving comfort to adaptive noise cancellation and faithful sound reproduction, the FreeBuds Neo is not just a treat for the ears — it is a fashion statement for a new generation.'
At their core, the FreeBuds Neo introduce Huawei's first dual-channel active noise cancellation architecture, built on the company's third-generation audio chip, achieving an average of 30 dB noise reduction across the full frequency range and up to 55 dB at the peak. Millisecond-level adaptive algorithms respond to changing noise, while an AI conversation mode automatically lowers music volume and switches to transparency when the wearer speaks. A three-microphone system with a bone-conduction sensor and dedicated NPU supports clear two-way calls up to 95 dB even in wind.

Sound comes from new Turbo drivers with a balanced pressure-relief design, spanning 10 Hz to 48 kHz. Used with supported Huawei devices, the earbuds deliver up to 2.3 Mbps lossless transmission and 48 kHz/24-bit master-grade audio, while spatial audio technology reconstructs ordinary stereo music into 360° surround sound in real time. Available in Zero White, Galaxy Silver, Starry Black and Nebula Pink, the HUAWEI FreeBuds Neo is priced at HK$798 and goes on sale at selected retailers from 30 September 2026.
