Franck Muller Unveils the Vanguard 'Ram Lalla' Limited Edition

India / Geneva — Franck Muller Genève, Master of Complications, presents a timepiece created especially for India: the Vanguard “Ram Lalla” Limited Edition, in partnership with Kapoor Watch Co. A tribute to Lord Ram in his childhood form, worshipped as the presiding deity of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the watch brings together the distinctive design language of the Vanguard collection and the brand's watchmaking expertise. Acclaimed Indian sitarist and neo-classical musician Rishab Rikiram Sharma joined the launch as a special guest.

Each curve, line and angle contributes to a silhouette that is both dynamic and elegant. The timepiece is distinguished by an intricate dial appliqué depicting Lord Ram, its detailed relief engraving adding depth to the dial — a reflection of the meticulous attention to detail that characterises Franck Muller's creations. The dial itself depicts the deity through detailed laser work, with every single dial requiring approximately 30 hours of laser processing before the appliqué is polished, finished and hand-applied.

The dual-curved, three-dimensional case extends its curvature to the dial and appliqués, forming a sculpted profile with real visual depth. Crafted from a solid block of 18-carat rose gold, it measures 41 mm in width and 49.95 mm in length; two side inserts are carefully colour-matched to the strap for a cohesive aesthetic that complements the distinctive Vanguard design.

The strap is integrated into the case using two concealed screws in place of traditional spring bars, with carefully finished edge stitching completing the smooth transition between case and strap. It combines rubber with grape-based vegan leather to follow the Vanguard's curved silhouette, and each strap takes approximately 15 minutes to produce. Powering the timepiece is a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, while the edition is limited to 108 individually numbered pieces — a number of spiritual significance in Hindu tradition.

The collection is available in both 18-carat rose gold and stainless steel cases.
