DAVID CANDAUX INTRODUCES THE DC6 WILDFIRE AT GENEVA WATCH DAYS 2026

On the occasion of Geneva Watch Days 2026, independent Swiss watchmaker David Candaux introduces the DC6 Wildfire — a vivid new interpretation of the DC6 architecture, inspired by the first light catching the Risoux forest in the Vallée de Joux.

The limited edition of eight pieces pairs the collection’s 30-degree flying tourbillon and 45-gram presence with a bright orange anodised titanium dial. The colour runs from the centre to the perimeter at full intensity, recalling the brief moment when sunrise sets the forest ridge ablaze.

The case brings together a titanium chamber with a UD carbon case band and bezel, held by full-length titanium stretchers rather than adhesives. The 45 mm construction is designed around strength, lightness and a tactile contrast between cool titanium and the warmer, silky surface of carbon.

The Wildfire’s tourbillon cage is made from blue anodised titanium. No pigment or coating is added: controlled voltage creates a transparent oxide layer whose thickness determines the colour. The blue cage and orange dial use the same principle at two different voltages.

The domed dial receives a hand-applied sunburst finish before anodisation and a transparent lacquer that deepens the reflections. Black applied numerals and hour markers cut cleanly through the orange surface, keeping the watch immediately legible as the light changes.

At the heart of the watch is the in-house H74 calibre, developed at Le Solliat with Grade 5 titanium bridges and mainplate. Its cascading bridges, hand-polished recessed angles and sapphire case back turn the movement into a second landscape beneath the wrist.

The DC6 Wildfire is limited to eight pieces and priced at CHF 248,000 before taxes. It is a watch about contrast: carbon and titanium, blue and orange, the precision of a flying tourbillon and the fleeting warmth of first light over the forest.
