Chopard: Six Timepieces Nominated at the 2026 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève

Chopard is proud to announce that six timepieces have been shortlisted for the 2026 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), securing nominations across as many categories. Spanning Fine Watchmaking, Haute Joaillerie and mechanical Objets d'Art, these nominees reflect the richness and diversity of the Maison's expertise, from the workshops of Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier to the Haute Joaillerie atelier in Geneva. The awards ceremony will be held on 7 November.

In the Time Only category, the L.U.C 1860 honours the 30th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture through a faithful continuation of the very first timepiece in the L.U.C collection. Crafted in Lucent Steel™ and powered by the ultra-thin L.U.C Calibre 96.40-L, it combines a small seconds display at 6 o'clock with a traditional hand-guilloché dial in "Areuse Blue" – a colour inspired by the Areuse River that flows near Chopard Manufacture in the Val-de-Travers region.

Nominated in the Mechanical Exception category, the L.U.C Grand Strike represents the most complicated chiming watch ever created by Chopard Manufacture. Comprising 686 components, it brings together a grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie and minute repeater with proprietary sapphire crystal gongs. Building on the legacy of the L.U.C Full Strike, which was awarded the prestigious Aiguille d'Or at the 2017 GPHG, it crowns decades of innovation in the field of striking watches.

The L'Heure du Diamant, selected in the Gemset category, showcases the inseparable dialogue between jewellery craftsmanship and watchmaking expertise that defines the collection. Its cushion-shaped silhouette, pear-shaped diamond bezel featuring Chopard's signature crown setting, fluted dial and newly reinterpreted gold link bracelet draw on a historic Scheufele family design from the 1960s, reaffirming Chopard's status as the Master of Jewellery Watches.

Finally, in the Jewellery category, Chopard unveils the Mystery Nut Secret Watch, a new one-of-a-kind creation that joins this year's selection. Inspired by nature and crafted entirely in-house, this extraordinary pendant watch conceals a self-winding moonphase movement within a remarkably realistic walnut sculpted in 18-carat ethical rose gold and diamonds. Presented on a spectacular sautoir adorned with nearly 430 carats of diamond briolettes, it reveals a hidden miniature world rich in symbolism and Artistic crafts.

Selected in the Mechanical Clock category, the Beehive Chiming Table Clock celebrates the 30th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture. Since the early years of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, founded in 2001, Chopard has been a regular participant in what is widely regarded as watchmaking's highest distinction. Among its most notable achievements are the 2017 "Aiguille d'Or" prize awarded to the groundbreaking L.U.C Full Strike, as well as numerous category prizes recognising both the Maison's watchmaking and jewellery expertise. Most recently, at the 2025 GPHG, Chopard received two distinctions with the Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF, winner of the Sports Watch Prize, and the Imperiale Four Seasons, awarded the Ladies' Complication Watch Prize. These successes followed an equally strong 2024, when the Laguna High Jewellery Secret Watch won the Jewellery Watch Prize and the L.U.C Qualité Fleurier received the Eco-Innovation Prize.
