BELL & ROSS BR-03 SPACE MISSION: A NEW ODYSSEY ON THE WRIST, LIMITED TO 999 PIECES

Following the success of the BR-03 Astro, Bell & Ross continues to explore a display of time where watchmaking meets the imagination. With the BR-03 Space Mission, the Maison transforms a space scene into a true animated tableau on the wrist, giving a new dimension to its iconic square case. This new chapter marks the launch of a new collection of limited-edition timepieces, based on the dreamlike time display imagined by Bell & Ross.

Presented as a limited edition of 999 pieces, the BR-03 Space Mission offers a new journey through time and space with a new animated tableau, inspired by space exploration, a universe dear to Bell & Ross. Thanks to an ingenious system and the replacement of the watch hands with figurative elements, the BR-03 dial comes alive and takes off on an unprecedented horological expedition. Thanks to this "simple complication", the iconic BR-03 case, inspired by the dials of an aircraft's cockpit instruments, becomes a porthole opening onto the cosmos and its wonders. In 2025, the BR-03 Astro invited observers to contemplate the ballet of the Blue Planet and its satellite. One year after the success of this first limited edition, Bell & Ross brings to life, for this new reference, an avant-garde vehicle concept developed by Dassault Aviation, the Vortex. Breaking away from all existing space transportation systems, the Vortex — short for "Véhicule Orbital Réutilisable de Transport et d'Exploration", a reusable orbital vehicle for transport and exploration — embodies a vision of the future and of how humans may one day travel between Earth and various orbital platforms. Versatile and reusable, it is designed to move seamlessly between space and Earth, taking off, flying and landing on a runway just like an aircraft. For Bell & Ross, a specialist in professional instrument watches, this opens up a new and infinite playground.

Designed like an animated tableau, the dial of the BR-03 Space Mission transports us into space and into another vision of time. By replacing traditional hands with a transparent rotating disc and a vehicle travelling around the dial, the BR-03 Space Mission transforms the reading of time provided by the BR-CAL.325 automatic mechanical movement into an experience that is both playful and immersive, worthy of a grand complication. For this limited edition, the iconic BR-03 case offers a view of the Vortex taking off in the foreground, with the Blue Planet and its satellite in the background, setting off towards new dreams and the infinite expanse of space, represented by a black aventurine glass background scattered with stars. A small red dot represents the planet Mars — perhaps the next stage in the journey of the Vortex and Humanity?

Thanks to the ingenuity of Bell & Ross's Swiss design office, reading the time is highly intuitive and similar to that of a traditional two-hand dial. The Earth and the Moon — which serves as a reference point for reading the hours — are printed on a transparent rotating disc that moves in the same way as the hour hand. The front end of the Vortex, which makes its own revolution around the dial, indicates the minutes. With every passing minute, the flow of time transforms this tableau, highlighting the way time changes our perception of the world and inviting us to shift our perspective. Limited to 999 pieces, this dreamlike timepiece is intended for astronomy enthusiasts, science-fiction literature aficionados, collectors drawn to a different approach to displaying time — and anyone who dreams of space.

The story of Bell & Ross began in 1994, driven by two friends, Carlos-A. Rosillo and Bruno Belamich, both passionate about watchmaking and aviation. In 2005, the House revolutionised watch design codes with the creation of the BR-01, inspired by aeronautical instruments — the iconic "round in a square" that became its visual signature. Bell & Ross is present in over 80 countries through a selected international network of 600 retailers and 25 exclusive boutiques.
